Itqan's Masterpiece

One of the ways to exercise the right brain (creative side) of your children is by encouraging them to use colours (let it be crayons or colour pencils).

At the age of 1.5 to 2.0 years old, you can start by introducing the name of different colour. Relate them with the colour of natural things around you (example: yellow = sun, blue = sea, black = hair, green = tree).

Between the age of 2.0 to 3.0 year old, guide them on how to hold a pencil or crayon. Choose the right size of colours (usually the jumbo size). They may start with doodling on blank papers.

Guide them on how to colour within the lines as early as 3.0 years old...

Colouring always creates the feeling of bliss and satisfaction to the children especially when they have completed the task...reward them with a kiss, a pat or a praise...they can spend hours on colouring than disturbing you running the house chores...
