White Sauce Recipe & Baked Rice With Cheese

I got this recipe from Kak Nik Eliani (founder of Bacalah Anakku & Read Easy). Very simple but delicious...you can use the white sauce for macaroni or spaghetti..

WHITE SAUCE
Ingredients:

2 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoon of flour
1 cup of milk
some salt n pepper

Directions:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add flour and stir until the butter and flour are well combined. Pour in milk, stirring constantly as it thickens. Add more milk depending on desired consistency. Flavour your sauce with salt and pepper. Sprinkle some chopped oregano on top of your sauce. Ready to be served!(for cheese sauce, add some grated mozzarella cheese)

BAKED RICE WITH CHEESE
Ingredients:

1. Fried rice with mushroom and chicken (or shrimp)
2. White sauce
3. Grated cheese

Directions:
Put the fried rice in a baking dish. Layer the top of the rice with white sauce. Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the white sauce. Bake at 150 degree celcius for 1 hour. Your baked rice with cheese is ready to be served!

interesting.....though i prefer parmesan rather than mozzarella. It increases the thickness of the sauce. I'll try experimenting on other types of cheese too.

Hi...would like to thank you for this recipe. Tried it and love how easy it was to go with my Meatball Baked Rice. :)
